There were few organizations in Canada that are as successful, large – and largely unnoticed – as the Federated Co-operatives Limited. FCL, as it’s also known, supports a wide-reaching network of over 190 independent retail co-operatives across Western Canada.

As a result, FCL was many things to many people – gas stations, farming and contractor supplies, groceries – but their mission and brand were clear to very few.
Through insights gathered from extensive onsite research, co-operative visits, stakeholder interviews and workshops, K2XO guided the executive team to define and clarify what Federated Co-operatives meant at its foundation, so a vision and voice could be carried across all branches of the organization.

With a strong brand in place, we reconstructed the FCL Intranet for greater ease of access to a shared digital space for co-operative employees across Canada to unite, with new materials that clearly expressed their new brand and clearly defined where they worked.
